Geoprocessing for hipsters: translating features

Here's the functional programming version of a script I posted earlier today on GIS Stack Exchange.

Once the single record translating function is defined (in only 10 statements), the rest of the code is just 4 statements. That's only one more than in David Bitner's super slick JEQL example. JEQL gives you the translate function, but at least Fiona makes writing it (and also many other functions of this sort) simple.
